Early Years Practitioner & Early Years Play Assistant

Due to the continued high demand for places, we have exciting opportunities in our wonderful nursery here at Craigclowan. These are temporary posts to commence in January 2026, until the end of the school year in July 2026.  The hours of work are 0800 - 1500 on Thursdays and Fridays during term time only.

Do you have a genuine interest in children and want to help further their learning and experiences?  Could you be one of the passionate and enthusiastic people we need to join our team?  The ability to work in a team situation is essential and a flexible and positive approach to working with young children and their parents is required. 

Early Years Practitioner

Working within our 3 - 5 age group, you will be part of a very experienced team of Practitioners involved in the daily care and education of our pupils. A competitive rate of pay is on offer depending on experience and applications are welcomed from Early Years Practitioners who hold an HNC in Childcare and Education, SVQ Level 3 or above in Childcare and Education or a recognised equivalent qualification.  There is a requirement for all Early Years Practitioners to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) prior to appointment.

Early Years Play Assistant

The ability to work in a team situation is essential and a flexible and positive approach to working with young children and their parents is required.  Our children love outdoor play and outdoor learning so applications from those with a love of the natural environment would be particularly welcome.  Working within our 3 - 5 age group, you will help to support a very experienced team involved in the daily care and education of our pupils. 

Experience of working with children is preferred but candidates with the right qualities and attitude will be considered.  SSSC registration is desirable.

About our school
