An important part of school life is the contribution we make to the local and wider communities:

• In 2007 we raised money or made other donations to over twenty charities including £6,400 for Sport Relief.

• Various groups used the school’s facilities including Dundee College students learning to ski on our dry slope, female cricketers from Kinross, cricket coaches qualifying for Cricket Scotland awards, Perthshire Hockey Club, a group of “senior” badminton players, golfers attending Perth College evening adult education classes and Ski Class which coaches local young skiers.

• No fewer than twelve local students completed work experience at the school during 2007 and 2008.

• Many of the local elderly received food parcels from the WRVS as a result of our Harvest Festival collections.

• Our Middle Choir performed at the switching on of the Perth Christmas Lights and our Senior Choir played host to and performed with a choir from the Stiftsbasilika in Aschaffenburg, Perth’s German twin town.

• Our Senior Choir and Pipe Band toured Norway and played to groups of schoolchildren and adults.

• As part of the Comenius scheme we have welcomed teachers from Germany and Finland to the school and work in partnership with schools from 4 countries, 3 of which are state funded.

• The school has made a significant contribution to recycling in the area and achieved the accolade of top aluminium recycler.

• Craigclowan is now a member of the Eco-schools programme.

• We employ over 70 local people and provide education to over 300 local children.

• Wherever possible we use local produce for school meals and other local businesses for general supplies.

• Facility maintenance is contracted to local businesses.

• Our school uniform is available exclusively at a Perth business.
