PTA News & Events (2010)

We all struggled through the snow for this year's Fayre and, despite or perhaps because of the snowy weather, many of you turned up to sample Christmas shopping, Santa's Grotto, Gluhwein and BBQ, and lots of pocket money games for the children.
A huge thank you to parents, staff and children who helped make the day a success.

The very rainy weather did not dampen our spirits and we had a huge turn-out for our first BBQ of the school year.
We also ran a very successful ski-sale alongside, though we are always looking to replenish our stock of ski-equipment which is now very low... if you have any to sell, please label with your contact details and a suggested price and bring them into the school office.
With these two events we have already raised over £500 to go towards outdoor shelters for the astroturf and ski-slope.

Thank you to the many parents who turned up for an hour's chat - hopefully we made our new parents feel very welcome and were able to answer any questions you had.

Summer solstice, a beautiful evening and lovely scenery ensured our golfers enjoyed a relaxing game of golf with plenty of liquid refreshment afterwards! Thanks to everyone who came along, including our three intrepid lady golfers, Fiona, Gillian and Jen!

Our second BBQ this term was held on a beautiful sunny HOT day, excellent BBQ weather! Thank you to the many families who came along and a special thank you to the Porter family who supplied those delicious strawberries! A great time was had by all as you can see from these photos. This was the last BBQ this term but we are planning a Welcome Back Saturday BBQ in September.

Thanks to all 130 of you who braved the cold to huddle around our BBQ and have a warming burger, coffee and cakes! Our next BBQ is on Sat. 5th June which is bound to be warmer so we can hopefully spill out into the playing fields and playparks. These summer BBQs are a great opportunity for parents, children, staff and friends to get together whilst raising a little money to buy the school a fifth interactive whiteboard.

This was our second annual quiz night, hosted once more by Tina and David, our quizmasters extraordinaire! They certainly set us entertaining, challenging and thought-provoking questions, and a great time was had by all as can be seen by these pictures of a transformed dining hall. Our brain cells were helped along by delicious homemade canapes and drinks. Many thanks to all of you who came along, and for those teams which didn't win, well there is always next year!
