PTA Christmas Fayre

23 Nov 2013

On Saturday 23rd November, Christmas magic was in the air at the annual PTA Christmas Fayre. On arrival, visitors were greeted by one of Santa’s hardworking little ponies who whinnied a warm welcome to one and all.  Moving into the main hall, the inviting smell of mulled wine and cinnamon pinecones filled the air. A fabulous array of stalls laden with all sorts of treasures tempted Christmas shoppers, and the home baking stall groaned with delicious goodies. Musical performances from Craigclowan children were well received by proud parents, grandparents and friends, and the new Christmas Café area provided a lovely relaxed space for catching up with friends and soaking up the ambience. It was a truly wonderful event, and a record-breaking profit of £4,300 was raised for the PTA.

PTA Late Summer BBQ

14 Sep 2013

On Saturday 14th September, in glorious sunshine, the PTA held their annual late summer BBQ. There were several new attractions this year, including bouncy castles, face painting and a champagne raffle, as well as the usual tasty food and the ever popular make-your-own-sundae stall. A great time was had by all, and a fantastic profit of just under £700 was raised for the PTA.

Huge thanks to all who were involved in pulling together this fun-packed event.  And a special mention to Simon Howie who generously donated the burgers and sausages, to Janettas, who donated ice cream, and to the Porter family who kindly donated the delicious strawberries. And congratulations to Louise Murphy, who won the champagne raffle.

The next PTA BBQ will be in Spring, and promises to be every bit as fabulous as Saturday’s event!

Clay-Pigeon Shoot

14 May 2013

On Tuesday 14 May, the inaugural PTA Clay Pigeon Shooting Evening was held at Strathallan, with 20 eager Dads participating.  With a wide range of shooting abilities it was an enjoyable and entertaining evening for everyone, and one which will definitely be repeated.

Congratulations to the winning team of Ewan Fraser, Bryan Fleming, Alex Collinson, Paddy Hartell and Duncan Heaton-Armstrong whose score of 64/125 beat the "Form 3 Smithereens" team of Benedict Lawson, Tom Cornell, John Stephen, Stuart Henderson and James Halley into second place.  The winning team have already promised to shoot together again next year and will clearly be the ones to beat!  A special mention also to Ewan Fraser who had the highest individual score of 23/25 and Bryan Fleming who was second with 18/25.

The evening ended with a curry and glass of wine kindly provided by Strathallan, who we must thank also for hosting the evening.  Thanks are also due to Ed Anderson for enabling the event to go ahead.

Just under £300 was raised for Craigclowan
.

PTA Ceilidh

20 Mar 2013

Thank you to all of you who attended the PTA Ceilidh last Saturday, which raised £239. The evening began with Gregor Cochrane playing his bagpipes and he was then joined by “The Albany Band” who supported him playing “Highland Cathedral”. It was then onto the dancing and the dance floor was never empty thanks to Mrs Farrow who expertly persuaded everyone to join in. Supper was stovies and shortbread provided by Jean, then onto more dancing. The evening ended with Auld Lang Syne with many smiling, happy faces – kids and parents alike. A great evening and hopefully the first of many School Ceilidhs!
