PTA Christmas Fayre

24 Nov 2012

The PTA is delighted to announce that the Christmas Fayre on Saturday made an impressive £3632.16. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for their donations, support and help on the day. A huge amount of you gave up your time to help and without that commitment, the Fayre could not have happened.

A Busy Start to the Term

02 Oct 2012

It has been a busy start to the Term for the PTA, with our Welcome Coffee Morning being well attended, followed by 2 BBQ's and ski sales. Amazingly, the sun shone for both BBQ's and the PTA have raised around £1000 from these events. Many thanks to all of you who came along and supported us.
The PTA are funding some new items for Pre-school this Term, and there are still many other ideas which are being investigated for us to fund.

Remember, to put the Christmas Fayre date into your diary - Saturday 24th November.

60th Anniversary Dinner Dance

18 May 2012

Not to be outdone by Her Majesty, 200 former pupils, staff, governors and current members of the Craigclowan community celebrated the School's 60th Birthday in style at Perth Racecourse last Friday. Drinks were followed by a welcome from Andy Rathborne, then it was straight into a game of "Heads or Tails" ably hosted by Ed Anderson and won by a delighted Heather Stephen, whose knowledge of Craigclowan clearly knows no bounds! After a delicious three course Dinner, the guests were treated to a speech by David Yellowlees who reminisced about 60 years of the School. Once a wide range of prizes were won in the raffle, it was down to the serious business of dancing the evening away to "The Solid Gold Band".

As you will see from the photos, it was a wonderful celebration enjoyed by all who attended, even the Craigclowan cow joined us for the evening! And there are not many events that bring together the past, the current and the future Headmasters!

The PTA Dinner Dance Committee would like to thank everyone who supported the event and those who donated prizes. We are extremely delighted to be donating over £3800 to the Mark Taylor Educational Trust.

Lastly, our "60 photos for 60 years of Craigclowan" display that was done for the Dinner Dance can now be seen in the school dining hall.

PTA Quiz Night

25 Feb 2012

A huge thank you to the 80 people who supported the 4th PTA Quiz Night on Saturday 25th February. As always, it was a fun-filled evening for all. David and Tina did a brilliant job as quiz masters and kept the evening moving at a quick pace - leaving little time for most of the teams to notice the fact that the "Monarchs of the Glen" lead by Liz Jeffers were clear favourites from early in the evening and were going to be hard to beat. Congratulations to them, and commiserations to Lorna Glynn's team for losing the title that they have held for 2 years.

There was a close fought battle for last place and well done to Fiona Jamison's team for winning that particular glory! The final prize of the evening went to Karen Bayne's team the "Four Non-Blondes" for winning the Best Named Team category.

I am sure there will be a few of us who feel much better for knowing the name of the Olympics mascot or the owner of a dog named Blondi!
