MAIN AIMS OF THE PARENTS-TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

The main aims of the PTA are fourfold - communication, fundraising, in-school help and social events.

Firstly, we aim to feed back to the school the views and opinions of the parents of pupils at Craigclowan.
These are obtained on both a formal and informal basis and are passed on to the school through regular committee meetings.

Secondly, we aim to raise funds to help the school with projects which are for the benefit of pupils at Craigclowan. Some of these projects might not have happened, others might happen quicker than would otherwise have been possible. However, all the money raised enables the school to spend its resources in other areas. In past years the PTA has been responsible for funding: ICT equipment, interactive whiteboards and equipment for the music department.

Thirdly, we help organise the Pre-school, Forms 1 and 2 Christmas parties and refreshments prior to the Christmas Concerts. We decorate the dining room at Christmas and help out at other school events when required. We also run second hand uniform sales throughout the school year.

Fourthly, we hold various events throughout the year which enable parents to meet each other and teachers in a social atmosphere.

If you would like to get involved with the PTA, can offer any help with any of the above or have any opinions or feedback , please get in touch with any committee member.
