Spring Term 2008

WINTER TERM 2007
Summer Term 2007

  13th December 2007
  Dear Parents,

The Pre-school has, as always, been a hive of activity since the beginning of term and the amount and quality of the activity has been as high as ever. The outings to Scone Palace and recently to Montcrieff House to visit the elderly have been enjoyable and educational for all concerned. The time spent outside playing has kept the children healthy and active and while inside, their projects have kept them interested and provided marvellous displays for the walls. Many of you remarked on how impressed you were at Parents’ Night with the standard of what the children have achieved and I would agree wholeheartedly.

The Christmas Concert version of the Wriggly Nativity gave wonderful entertainment to all present and the support from you for that and the Junior Carol Service was very much appreciated by us all. Seeing young children so happy and comfortable performing in public is a delight. As you may know, we have an unannounced Care Commission inspection in the New Year and I am confident that when the inspectorate meet the children they will know what a fine service we provide.

St. Andrew’s Day

I would like to draw your attention to the term dates for the coming year. In particular the half-term dates for Spring 2009 which now give a full week’s holiday. I hope that this will allow those of you who wish to ski with your family at that time the opportunity to do so without missing school either then or at the end of term. Equally, it will give us all a decent break to recharge our batteries as will the extra day added to the Summer half-term 2008 and I hope that this will not cause any inconvenience.

I encourage you to visit www.schoolstrader.com a unique website for independent school communities. Parents, staff, friends and family can use it to advertise to each other or search for items for sale (from holiday homes and bikes, to pets and musical instruments). It is useful, simple and completely free. Once registered, you can place ads or search for items under specific categories. Communication between buyers and sellers is by email. Users may place ads on the Craigclowan pages and on other local independent school pages in our area. I have enclosed a postcard with more details.
