Music:
Throughout the
school the children are very welcome to take up a musical
instrument. They are very welcome to try a particular
instrument if an interest arises.
Mr Olafsson can be contacted via email and will be happy
to arrange this. staffaolafsson@craigclowan-school.co.uk
After
School Activities:
Form 3 pupils are
able to continue their participation in Scottish Country
Dancing on Tuesdays.
Skiing will continue to take place on selected days.
Lunch
Time Activities:
The Junior Choir
will continue to meet at lunch times.
Theatrical
productions:
The children take
part in a performance at Christmas and the climax of the
year is always the summer term production!
Prep:
All homework which
is set will be written down in the daily prep diary.
Homework will normally include both number and spelling
tasks, though not necessarily on the same night. Prep
should normally not take longer than 30 minutes.
Reading:
The children will
have reading homework every night which is to be
completed, as usual with parental supervision, discussed
and signed with any relevant comments. At the weekend the
children will normally read a Puffin book instead of
their reading book.
Spelling:
The children will be
given spelling each week where they will be asked to
write out words a number of times and learn them. The
words will be accompanied by a worksheet. There will also
be worksheets to accompany the spelling words.
Number:
This will vary and
could take the form of a sheet, sums in their jotter or
tables.
Tests:
Children will get a
weekly class test on the preps set for that week.
Thursdays prep will prepare the children for the
tests.
We hope you look
forward to the exciting year ahead as much as we do!
