Comenius trip to Cingoli, Italy. 22.02.2012 – 26.02 2012

At last we were able to make the journey to visit our Comenius partners in Cingoli in Italy. Cingoli is in the Marche region and was inundated by an extraordinary amount of snow just before we were originally due to meet there.

Unfortunately not all the partners were now able to visit at the same time, but we were made very welcome by our Italian hosts. We were able to visit the three sites which make up Instituto Comprensivo “Enrico Mestica”, seeing children from 3 to 13 at work and play and meeting the teachers who are working on the project. We were entertained by songs, some learnt in English, and were impressed by the enthusiasm of all concerned. There was also time to discuss the work to be completed in the next few months. We were honoured to be received by the Mayor at the Town Hall, who presented us with books about the town.

Cingoli is situated in a beautiful and little known part of Italy and we were delighted to see some of the surrounding area. We were also amazed by the heaps of snow still filling some of the narrow streets, and were not at all surprised at the previous postponement.
