Over the course of
the year, 2b children will experience a diverse and
rewarding topic based curriculum. Our success is achieved
through structured tasks, independent and group
investigations, a lively programme of interactive mental
maths, extra curricular visits, taking part in musical
and dramatic performances and an active Physical
Education programme. The children also learn to play a
musical instrument called an ocarina!
The information below is intended
to answer any queries that you may have about your child
starting in a new class and the daily routines that you
will encounter.
Lessons finish at 2.50pm and the
children then have free play in the classroom. Collection
is flexible between 2.50 and 3.30pm.
For games the following kit is
required:-
A jogging suit
Outdoor trainers
Indoor trainers/plimsoles
A drawstring bag to hold the kit.
It is also advised that a named
apron
could be in school for messy days!
ALL OF THE ABOVE ITEMS MUST BE
NAMED!
2b children will have a small
amount of homework each night which should take not
longer than 15-20 minutes. The homework will be written
in a prep book so you can check what they have to do.
This will usually consist of reading and two spellings to
learn and write in a sentence.
On Fridays we test the
weeks spellings, have a basic number test, and a
general test covering the weeks topic
objectives and some basic general knowledge. We do aim to
keep these tests as low key as possible!
In your childs
pencil case they will need:-
Coloured pens
Coloured pencils
Several lead pencils
A rubber
Pencil sharpener |

Our main wish is
to give the children in 2b a very varied and fun learning
experience. We certainly have a great time!
